Static Hair: Tips for Smooth and Hydrating Locks

The reason for your static hair is that your hair lacks moisture. You need to use a moisturizing conditioner and not apply it to the roots, just the mishit to the ends. If you still don’t want to use the conditioner, then use the spray in the conditioner. Cold winter air is less humid, yet in summer, the air is more humid, so the water in the air allows electricity to flow off of the hair shaft rather than building up and causing hair static.

If you are not using a hair conditioner, it’s time to start. If you are concerned about greasiness or conditioner weighing your hair down, concentrate conditioning products on the end of the hair. These light moisture shampoos are also a good choice for keeping conditioning light yet compelling.

Static hairs usually result when the strands become charged with electricity, more due to the lack of moisture. Dry air environments or the regular use of heating tools can also cause this issue. When your hair lacks moisture, it’s more prone to static electricity buildup. Further, friction from brushing hard, towel-drying, or wearing certain fabrics also contributes towards static hair. Materials like polyester or nylon also help to generate more static compared to natural fibres like wool or cotton.

Another tip is to get a static quad and spray it from away into your brush. You can also get the unscented dryer sheets and rub one on your hair to remove the static.

Some other tips for not making static hair

  • Use dryer sheets. We learned this tip a few years ago and have been using it ever since. Dryer sheets are helpful. You should rub them on your brushes and combs and even run them along my hair to destroy that pesky flyaway.
  • Try lotion. If you’re out or in a hotel room like I was yesterday. Rub a dollop into your hands, and then run your fingers through your hair. Of course, a little bit will go a long way, so use your lotion sparingly!
  • Use Control Spray. There are so many sprays on the market that are cheaper, but the branded particular bouquet works wonders. It eliminates your staticky hair problem-like enchantment.
  • Crank up the humidifier. A humidifier will increase the moisture level in your room, thereby terminating the static problem.
  • Hairspray is your friend. Spray a generous amount onto your hairbrush and brush your hair. It helps get rid of static. Dry your hair with a branded dryer. This kind of dryer not only greatly diminishes the amount of time it takes to dry your hair, but it isn’t necessarily costly.
  • Use combs made of rubber or metal. Plastic combs are the harmful contributors to static.
  • Use a silicone-based conditioner. The silicone will neutralize the electric charger.
  • Brush your hair with a natural bristle brush. They’re more costly but worth it. Not only do they help allocate natural oils evenly throughout your hair, making it shinier, but they also decrease static.
  • Don’t wear rubber-soled shoes. Rubber-soled shoes accumulate electrical charge, contribute to staticky hair, and can cause shock when you touch something.

It’s essential to know the underlying causes to combat static in hair. Hydrating hair with moisturizing products like leave-in conditioners or hair oils helps build up moisture. Also, using a humidifier in a room to add moisture to the air also benefits you, especially during dry seasons. Moreover, avoid the use of plastic combs and look for wooden or metal ones to minimize static in hair. Following this hair care routine will surely help you keep static at bay and leave locks looking silky and manageable.
